Malkate’s hands burned as she healed him – but she didn’t care about the pain. Her emotions were returning to her at an alarming rate, even as her mind registered Sitherack’s words, she triumphantly felt the hatred from him that she held almost the same in regard. Her body didn’t stop pouring energy into his until she felt his body stabilize, and start to work on it’s own. Physically, he’d be healed, but energy she could not feed him without wondering about the consequences. Instead, she ignored the blood that now covered her robes, horror flashing naked across her face as the color drained. It wasn’t the blood now that covered her – not the actual disturbance of her clothing being stained – but the assertion of memories.
If Sitherack had known how drained she was from trying to destroy the Nectrite part of her and the healing of Lasius – he might just have taken his chances. As it was her body was almost shaking from exhaustion, and a mortal hunger that had not bothered her for almost centuries burned alive of it’s own nature in her. She could honestly eat an entire buffet she thought. The desire to take Lasius body with her to heal was almost overwhelming, but fear battled with the happenings of him waking up and realizing exactly who was there – and she didn’t wish to bother him more than she already had. Her heart was a painful mass in her chest as she moved to affectionately wipe the sweat from his brow with the edge of her robe that wasn’t dirty before her eyes turned to Daegan, knowing what those shadows concealed.
“I mean no harm to you or any Sedi besides Darken and perhaps a few others who judge before the story is told; I will not harm anyone that does not wish me ill. Lasius is stable, and will heal, he’s sleeping simply now and will probably need to rest. His physical wounds will be as old scars when he first wakes up – most likely stiff but they should not ail him at all.”
Her words were emotionless, portraying nothing of the infliction that her facial expression held – that soft almost mourning pain, the adoration naked upon her face. It was almost disturbing, that no infliction reached beyond her body. Her hand reached to the necklace about her neck – to the Wedding Ring that Lasius had given her that day so long ago before the Estrada’s and everyone – and with an almost painful tug she took it from around her neck, and gently prying Lasius finger’s open, she would curl the ring within his hand.
”Don’t let Darken near him. I… when he wakes up, if he wishes to find me – somehow – Tell him I am beyond the borders in the place where he ascended. I believe he’ll remember where.”
She knelt down, gently lifting his head and setting it down upon the earth, an almost sardonic smirk crossing her features as the thought that he’d need to bathe – and what better way besides a quick cold dump in the water – would do for him. Though it was bittersweet, the thought and memory, and it was something she doubt she’d ever cherish again. So instead she leaned down, her words echoing in his ear and part of her prayed he’d hear it and accept it somewhere within him…
”I’m sorry Lasius… my life lies within your hands – it is yours if you wish the penance of my blood I will bleed with no fight.”
Then she stood, after this, and after making sure Daegan wasn’t a threat – perhaps a common bond shared of an enemy of an enemy – she vanished in the same red light that she had come in.
